Colombo Fort 1am — is the station even open for a 5:55 ticket or do we sleep and take 08:30

Bags at a Fort-side room. Elder. I can walk to the station now and queue in the dark, or sleep and risk 08:30 unreserved to Kandy. Tuesday 1 Sep ordinary weekday. Not a poya I know of.

Sleep. Counter in the morning is an ordinary Tuesday. 5:55 panic at 1am gets you a closed window and a rumour. If you need reserved, the app or a morning queue. 08:30 seated to Kandy is a grown-up train. I will not invent an all-night Fort ticket office because a blog said so.

We queued at 07:10, got seated. Fine. 1am Fort is security guards, not a booking hall.

If the app shows a seat, pay it in the bed. Do not hunt a ghost counter.
