Seat on an afternoon intercity. First Kumbal is 6:52. How early do we actually need to be on a kerb, counting the Kandy-end crawl.

Treat 6:52 as a listed start, not a door time. Dump bags, walk, sit. The last kilometre crawls. An afternoon bus that arrives "in time" on paper is how you watch the first elephant from a tuk.

We left a two-hour town buffer and still walked the last bit. Fine. Friends who cut it sat in horns.

Bogambara-side rooms are a shorter walk than Peradeniya if you are already late.

No invented closure. Ordinary traffic is enough.

Reserved bus beats hoping a later train still feeds a kerb.
