The Romanian-built sleeping cars provide two-bunk lockable compartments with washbasins, but they do not feature continuous 230V mains outlets; 110V shaver sockets inside compartments fail to support CPAP or high-draw medical devices. Passengers requiring medical power must travel with certified DC power banks.
Temperatures drop below 12°C once the train ascends past Pattipola at 3:30 AM; bring warm layers inside your cabin because provided cotton blankets are thin.
Keep luggage locked to the lower bunk stanchions with wire cable locks; while compartments have door latches, night motion can jar unlatched doors open.
