Colombo to Galle by train: dist_time 120km, 2 hours via expressway. Book: seatreservation.railway.gov.lk or 12Go Asia. Classes: Observation (best views, AC), 2nd class reserved (window seats), 3rd class (unreserved, cheapest). Book 2-4 weeks ahead peak.

Train experience is iconic — scenic route via tea country, viaducts. Bring: snacks, water, camera. Bathroom in each car (varies condition). Right-side seats better for many routes. Highly recommended.
