Colombo Wolvendaal Church (1749): cruciform Doric architecture and VOC governor tombstones?

Wolvendaal Church (built between 1749 and 1757) on a hill in Pettah is the oldest functioning Protestant church in Sri Lanka. Constructed in classical Dutch Doric style, the building is laid out in a Greek cross plan with equal arms. Its massive walls (1.5 meters thick) are engineered from laterite (Kabook) blocks bonded with coral-lime mortar, supporting a soaring 30-meter brick dome. The stone floor is paved with historic granite gravestones relocated from the old Dutch church inside Colombo Fort in 1813, bearing carved coats of arms and Dutch epitaphs of five VOC governors, including Gustaaf Willem van Imhoff.
