Can we cross to the other side of the street mid-parade if a gap opens once the cortege is moving, or should we stay put. Not picking a side at 6 PM knowing you cannot cross later, and not copying locals who dart a gap.

Stay put unless a volunteer or officer clearly waves your group through. A random troupe gap is not a pedestrian crossing — tourists who invent one get stopped and sometimes stranded mid-lane.

If you already split across sides by accident, regroup via a side alley, not through the cortege.

Meeting a friend on the other side is a walk-around problem, not a dash-through problem.
