Recommended brands: MDK, Ninja, and Marmite Curry Masters produce authentic roasted (unroasted also available) Sri Lankan curry powders. Better than 'export' curry blends made for foreign markets. Types: chicken curry masala, fish curry masala, jaffna curry powder, tempered masala.

Best sources: supermarket brand-name (Cargills, Keells), or Colombo spice specialists like Ceylon Spice Company. AVOID: airport 'spice garden' branded gift boxes at 3-5x market rate. Vacuum-sealed pack for travel; use within 6 months of opening for freshness.
