Dahawal Perahera (Day Procession) listed 2:18 PM. 2:18 PM day procession vs another night we already did — still on Friday?
Not trying to turn Kandy into a drama. Dahawal Perahera is listed 2:18 PM on Friday 28 Aug. Festival ends after that. 2:18 PM day procession vs another night we already did. Just need the ordinary move from someone who did this night, not 2019.

Poncho, not umbrella. Umbrella on Ampitiya Road edge during Dahawal Perahera is how you start a fight. If showers look likely, a later Kumbal is not automatically cancelled — they run wet. Dahawal is the day procession at 2:18 PM, not a night replay. Kinder for kids and elders, harsher sun. No Saturday Kandy restart after it. One pin, not three maybes.
We took the Colombo-Kandy morning reserved train, dumped bags, and were on Ampitiya Road edge by four. Unreserved in Perahera week is a maybe. Sit. Poncho in the daypack even if the sky looks smug.
One night only: I would still pick a Randoli over a Kumbal if you can stand crowds, and a mid-Kumbal if you cannot. Dahawal Perahera at 2:18 PM from Ampitiya Road edge is a real night either way. Kids change the trade.
