Elder with a stick, we can pay a bit more. Dahawal Perahera is listed 2:18 PM on Friday 28 Aug. Festival ends after that. Elder prefers daylight, we prefer drums at night. Standing three hours on kerb stone is not a flex in this family.

Local from the lake side: listed 2:18 PM for Dahawal Perahera is when they start leaving the Maligawa, not when the tusker fills Asgiriya-side last drop. Drums first, then dancers, then the heavy bit. If you want kerb, four is early-Kumbal sane and late-Randoli mandatory. Dahawal is the day procession at 2:18 PM, not a night replay. Kinder for kids and elders, harsher sun. No Saturday Kandy restart after it. Call the desk before you guess a late checkout.

We did 3rd Kumbal from a different corner and then Final Randoli from Asgiriya-side last drop. Not the same night. Listed 6:43 PM and they were still lining up. We should have bought water before we sat. One pin, not three maybes.

If the elder already said no to standing, that is the answer. Pay a balcony or skip Dahawal Perahera and do Dahawal at 2:18 PM on the 28th in daylight. Pride is not a viewing plan. First light is for the temple; night is for the street.
