Paving feels damp with dew this late even though it is not raining. Ignore until hotel, or worry about slipping with kids. Not lake-side cooler damper air move inland, and not mosquitoes on ankles.

Damp paving is common late — shorten steps, avoid painted kerb edges, and hold kids hands on slopes. Not an automatic rain-shell crisis if the sky is still only partly cloudy. Change socks at the hotel.

If kids are in smooth soles, that alone can justify an earlier peel.

Rain smell without drops is still not a reason to invent a downpour.
