Sheets smell like monsoon stone. Ceiling had a drip at 2am. Host is kind. We are here two more nights. Not trying to extract a discount. Trying to sleep. 26 Aug, Negombo fish market.

Ask for a fan, dry sheets, and a bucket under the known drip. Leftover wet in a Negombo fish market house is ordinary. Stone holds water. A room change if they have one, quietly. Do not invent a closure or a mould epidemic. Do not write a novel at breakfast. If it is still dripping on the bed, move. If it is just smell, fan and a walk.

They swapped the sheets and pointed a fan. Fine. We stayed.

Pride demands a free night and then sleeps in a damp mood anyway.

If the bed is wet, move. If the wall is cold, fan. Different problems.

We changed rooms. No speech. Fine.

Kids: dry sheets matter more than a view. Ask.

Do not invent a health emergency for a smell. Fan first.

A bucket is ordinary. A lawsuit voice at breakfast is not.
