The Dawson Tower in Kadugannawa is generally open to visitors every day from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. It is a stunning, historic monument built by the British to commemorate the engineer who constructed the treacherous Colombo to Kandy road.

There is a very small fee to climb it. The internal wooden spiral staircase is incredibly steep and narrow, so it is not recommended if you are claustrophobic. However, the panoramic view of the mountain pass from the top is absolutely breathtaking and highly rewarding.
