Honestly split. Dahawal Perahera is listed 2:18 PM on Friday 28 Aug. Festival ends after that. Kids will last a day one and not a night one. Bags are in a guesthouse that will not hold past eleven and the kid is already asking if we are going or not.

Agree a tuk drop on Peradeniya Road or Katugastota Road, not on Raja Veediya at 2:18 PM. The grid is cones and shoulders. cafe balcony over Dalada you reach on foot with bottles already bought. Dahawal is the day procession at 2:18 PM, not a night replay. Kinder for kids and elders, harsher sun. No Saturday Kandy restart after it. Poncho in the daypack even if the sky looks smug.

We used a baby carrier, not a stroller, on cafe balcony over Dalada for Final Randoli. Stroller people were parked in doorways looking miserable. Carrier was the whole trick. Shoes you can stand in, not the pretty pair.

Cash before you sit. The stall behind cafe balcony over Dalada wants notes. Card machines pretend to exist. An elder changes the trade.
