Keep seeing the national dengue tally past ninety thousand. In Kandy heat we hate long sleeves, but evenings are buggy. What are travelers actually doing for repellent and clothing without melting.

Reapply repellent at dusk even if you skipped it at noon. Light long sleeves for the evening kerb beat another fever story.

Sleep under a fan with screens closed if the room has them. Day heat is one thing; dawn and dusk bites are another.

Do not obsess over the national number - obsess over ankles and elbows at golden hour. That is where visitors get careless.
