For recreational diving (up to 40m depth): most travel insurance covers with 'water sports' or 'diving' rider. DAN (Divers Alert Network) provides dedicated dive insurance — USD 60-150 per year, covers emergency chamber, evacuation. Sri Lanka has decompression chambers in Colombo.

Certification: PADI Open Water minimum for guided dives, Advanced for deeper sites. Dive shops verify c-card. Non-certified: intro dives (up to 12m) with instructor. Check dive shop's own liability insurance — reputable ones (Trinco Blue, Amba Diving) have it.
