This is a massive universally believed absolute myth. Jungle leeches absolutely completely do not drop from high tree branches onto your head. They live exclusively in the damp wet leaf litter directly on the forest floor and occasionally on very low lying ferns. They wait incredibly patiently for the physical vibrations of footsteps then aggressively inch their way up your boots. Wearing thick tightly woven knee high leech socks provides absolutely perfect completely flawless protection. You can absolutely enjoy looking up at the beautiful rare birds without any fear of falling leeches.
