We are staying in Badulla. Which waterfall is better to visit, Dunhinda or Diyaluma?

Dunhinda is closer to Badulla. It is a spectacular, powerful "smoky" waterfall, but you can only view it from a platform. You cannot swim there. Diyaluma (closer to Koslanda/Haputale) allows you to hike to the top and swim in the natural pools overlooking the drop.

Swimming in pools at the top of a waterfall sounds unbeatable. I think we will do Diyaluma.

The hike to Dunhinda is a beautiful 1.5km walk through the jungle path with monkeys and vendors selling local drinks. Very atmospheric.
