Dutch Hospital coffee versus a Pedlar Street bakery two lanes in — sit the tourist table or walk

Fort, leftover rain, we want a sit. Dutch Hospital looks dry and priced like Colombo. Pedlar Street bakery has a queue of locals and plastic chairs. Not trying to be cheap for sport. Trying not to be the rude table that occupies a terrace for a 900-rupee feeling.

Walk two lanes. Dutch Hospital is a pretty courtyard with tourist prices. Nobody is scamming you; they are just pricing for the terrace. A Pedlar bakery bun and tea is the ordinary sit. If you want the courtyard photo, have one drink and leave. Do not camp a four-top for email.

We sat Pedlar, walked through Dutch Hospital after. Fine. One soda on the terrace was enough.
