I want to try traditional steamed Pittu. Do the homestays in Haputale serve this, and what is it usually eaten with.

Pittu (steamed rice flour and coconut cylinders) is a classic highland breakfast. Because it requires a special bamboo or metal steamer, you usually have to request it from your homestay host the day before. In the hills, it is traditionally served with a very spicy meat curry (like Babath/Tripe or mutton) or sweetened with fresh coconut milk and palm jaggery.

Lunu Miris (crushed chili and onion) is also mandatory if you are eating it savory!

I had it with sweet coconut milk and it was amazing. Much softer than I expected.
