Elder needs a brief sit mid-route after long standing. Is a folded jacket on the curb okay. Not borrow-hotel-foldable-chair, and not where-to-sit-without-buying-a-stool before leave.

A folded jacket or thin layer under them on sound pavement is fine for a short rest between sections — keep an adult each side.

Avoid crumbling curb edges and shop doorways; stand them again before the next elephant line arrives.
