An elderly relative is already standing through the opening. Is leaning against a shop shutter politely ok, or should we keep rotating who sits on a bag. Not bringing our own foldable stool, and not afternoon elderly seating plans.

A polite shutter lean is usually fine if you are not blocking a doorway or a dancer path. Rotate bag seats every few segments so nobody locks their knees. Ask the shop with a smile if you linger.

Know a side exit if they suddenly need to sit inside a lobby.

Do not shuffle them along the ring looking for a perfect wall — settle and rotate.
