Yes. Habarana area has ranger-led walking tours that trace elephant movement corridors between forests and reservoirs — different from a jeep safari, closer to nature. 3-4 hour morning walks, 5000-10000 LKR per person with ranger.

Ethical: no engaging elephants, distance kept, learning about elephant behavior and conservation. Book through Cinnamon Lodge Habarana or Jetwing Vil Uyana concierge. Best November-February when weather cooler. Not for anyone uncomfortable with jungle walking.
