Ella or Nuwara Eliya as our hill base - only 2 nights, what would you pick?

Reading both are 'must do'. Cannot do both. We're 30s couple, not into 'Little England' Victorian stuff. Prefer views + hikes.

Ella, easy. Nuwara Eliya is a tea-town-with-a-golf-course vibe that appeals to some people. Ella has Little Adam's Peak (sunrise), Nine Arch Bridge, Ella Rock, better cafes, better nomad/traveler energy. For a non-Anglophile 30s couple? Ella wins by a lot. NE is a stopover, not a base.

Kandy vs NE debate aside, Ella is genuinely better for what you described. NE is cold in a nostalgic way. Ella is cool in a jungle-mountain way. Also Ella has better food scene. Don't overthink this one.
