Everest Base Camp then Sri Lanka to decompress. Realistic transition or too different?

Actually a perfect transition. EBC = altitude, cold, exhaustion. Sri Lanka week later = sea level, warmth, food, rest. Bodies love this. Physiological: after high altitude, red blood cell count is elevated for weeks - you'll feel like superhuman at sea level for 10-14 days (mild euphoria, easy exercise). Practical concerns: bring layers for AC flights, sudden humidity is shock. Book: one comfortable coastal resort with pool, order room service the first two days, sleep, eat, gradually explore. Genuinely a great decompression.
^ this. Cinnamon Bey Beruwala, Cape Weligama, or Amaya Beach Passikudah are all excellent 'reset' properties. Full-service, pool, beach, food, no need to think. 5-7 days of that is heaven post-EBC.
