Light drops are a fair peel if kids or elders are already tired. Keep the shell on, take outer pavement, and do not invent a storm from a short sprinkle. Eaves only help if you are truly staying for one more dense block.
If someone offers a shared sheet over your heads, only join if you already planned to stay put.
Damp shoes get worse fast once drops start — factor that into the peel.
