21 Aug, two kids under eight, ear cups in the bag. Leftover swell from the last few days. Kid already eyeing the shallows. I want a local, not a cocktail.

Stay where you can stand. Leftover chop is a real class, not a photo. Leftover chop is ordinary August sea, not a brochure. No inflatables past the first break. I will not invent an official warning colour.

Elder move: plate, shade, then decide. Weligama beginner peak will still be there. Shade before pride.

Kids: leave when they melt. Pride turns foam-board peak into a timetable.
