Can we bring our own picnic or do they force you to buy food inside the park.

You are absolutely allowed to bring your own food and drinks inside the Dehiwala Zoo. In fact, many local families bring large homemade picnics to enjoy on the grassy lawns inside the park. Just be extremely careful not to bring any single use plastic bags, as they are strictly prohibited to protect the animals from choking hazards.
