We need Colombo by late afternoon. Highway van is a prepaid pin. Coastal train is the view we wanted. Leftover rain, not a cyclone. Bags are two backpacks.

Expressway van if the clock is real. Coastal train if you can miss a sit and you like the sea wall. 19 Aug leftover rain does not close the Southern Expressway. The coast road is slower and prettier and will puddle. Do not invent a festival extra on either. Ask the station board for the train, not a cousin.

We took the highway van, sat, arrived. Fine. Train would have been a postcard and a maybe.

Kids: van. Pride hunts a window seat on a standing train.

Write both. Pick the one that exists at the time you actually show up.

Coast road in leftover rain with a driver who wants to 'show you the bays' is how you miss Colombo.

We took the quieter fork on this: Galle to Colombo on a leftover-rain Wednesday. Fine. No one clapped.

Ask two locals. The first number about Galle to Colombo on a leftover-rain Wednesday is a test, not a fee I will invent.
