About half an hour into Second Randoli a gap opened between troupes on our stretch. Step into the gap for a clearer view or hold our curb. Not shoulder-wide gap hunting at start, and not stay-versus-move debates from the first moments.

Hold the curb unless the gap is clearly empty of marshals and animals — stepping into a mid-route gap can put you in the lane.

If you ease forward, keep the whole family as one block and be ready to step back the moment the next troupe appears.
