Never snap fingers or whistle. Options: (1) slight wave of hand + eye contact — most common, works. (2) 'excuse me' + polite look. (3) 'aiya' (brother) for younger male server, 'akka' (sister) for female — familiar, warm. (4) small hand raise at table height.

Servers in Sri Lanka usually attentive — don't need much prompting. Bill request: gesture of writing in air + eye contact. Tipping: 10% at restaurant standard, less at cafes, none at kade (small local eateries where fixed prices).
