Grab app showing surge and long ETA mid-parade. Walk out past the lock first, or wait for the surge to drop after the climax. Not Grab surge after the full parade ends, and not waiting on Grab or PickMe through the first hour as a pre-plan.

Walk out past the densest lock toward a quieter pickup pin first — standing in the crush refreshing surge prices rarely helps. After the climax, ETAs can stay ugly for a while as everyone leaves together.

If kids are done, walking toward the lake hotels beats gambling on a post-climax surge drop.
