Grandparents only speak Tamil. Send them the live Tamil First Randoli feed even though almost nobody is watching, or Sinhala with a translator app. Not a curb video-call-grandparents thread, and not “is Tamil empty so ignore it”.

Send Tamil first if that is their language — a quiet live with familiar speech beats a busy Sinhala feed they cannot follow. Offer Sinhala as a backup link with a translator only if Tamil stalls.

Warn them chat may be nearly empty on Tamil — that does not mean the camera is fake.
