We smell of coconut-fibre smoke. Tap in the bathroom is a brown trickle. Host says pump when the board is stable. Friend in Ampitiya says come use theirs. Walk 20 minutes wet, or sleep dirty and hope for 6am water.

We will fill a bucket. We will not send you across town. Tell us the tap died so we can look at the pump when the generator is not the only power.

A trickle after Perahera is often the pump, not a gazette. Ask for a bucket from the kitchen drum. A 20-minute walk to Ampitiya at 9.36 in wet clothes is a worse night. Morning water is the normal recovery. President's El Niño essential-goods meeting today is not a Katukele tap circular.

Bucket. Hair can wait. We walked to a friend last year and waited 40 minutes for a tuk back. Never again on a Kumbal night.
