Driver said we have to take his cousin as a guide or the desk will not sell. That smells like a south-coast trick. Desk still sell a simple ticket.

Desk sells a garden ticket. A guide is optional if you want names of plants. A driver cousin is not a gate. Walk to the window, buy, walk in. If someone quotes a special foreign price in the car, that is the car, not the desk.
