Saturday 22 Aug, Hikkaduwa. Lane dogs, unlit walk, PickMe pin still on the guesthouse door. Partner wants the photo. I want the feet. If town ATM is kinder, say so.

Walk to a bigger road before you call a tuk. Meeting pin in writing. Saturday night is ordinary weekend, not a hunt. PickMe finds the main road.

Ask two people. The first story about harbour-side boats, not a whale promise is not a timetable.

We dumped bags first. Dragging hard-shells into a kerb is theatre. Then tea.
