I am traveling near Maduru Oya National Park. Are the Maha Oya hot springs open to the public and do locals actually use them for wellness and healing.

Maha Oya has some of the hottest natural springs in Sri Lanka, consisting of seven wells with varying temperatures. Yes, it is very popular with locals who believe the high mineral content cures skin conditions and relieves arthritis. It is a very authentic, non commercialized wellness experience.

Get there right at sunrise! The eastern province gets incredibly hot by 9 AM, and sitting in hot thermal water under the blazing sun is not very relaxing.
