Hidden gem ancient ruins for landscape photography trips

Yes, Ritigala is exactly what you are looking for. It is an ancient Buddhist monastery hidden deep within a strict nature reserve jungle. You hike up paved stone paths through ancient medicinal forests. It is incredibly atmospheric, covered in moss, and you will likely be the only people there. Perfect for moody landscape photography.
Yapahuwa is another great one. It is a rock fortress like Sigiriya but way less crowded and has a stunning ornamental staircase.
Bring mosquito repellent for Ritigala. The jungle canopy is very thick and damp.
Ritigala sounds incredibly atmospheric. Adding it to the shot list.
Just remember the dress code applies to jungle ruins too. Keep your knees and shoulders covered.
