Sunday 30 Aug, Hikkaduwa. Breakfast table is full of coral-cut stories. Flag looks ordinary. I have water shoes. Kid wants a mask. I do not want a clinic.

Water shoes, first patch, where you can stand. Leftover chop on coral is how people hop home. Sit if it is dumping. I am not quoting an official colour. I will not invent a snorkel fee. Shade at noon. The breakfast rumours are usually one person who ran.

We did twenty minutes, sat. Fine. Pride would have chased a turtle into the cut.
