Filming from the rocks is totally fine and very common. However, the localism in the water is intense. Do not paddle straight to the peak. You have to wait your turn and be respectful. If you snake a local, you will be told to leave the water.

Ahangama is generally much friendlier for intermediate surfers than the Hiri point break.

Have your friend shoot with at least a 200mm lens, the point is further out than it looks.

Be careful on those rocks! The algae is super slippery and dropping your camera in the ocean is a real risk.
