Horagolla National Park (near Nittambuwa, 45 min from Colombo) is a very small forest reserve — 13 hectares only, more nature walk than safari. Birdlife, monkeys, monitor lizards. Historic significance as former Sri Lankan royal hunting grounds. Nice half-day break from Colombo urban.

Free entry, walking trails only (no jeeps needed for such a small area). Bring binoculars and water. Combine with visit to Attanagalla royal viharaya (nearby ancient temple). Not a wildlife safari destination — more urban escape into forest.
