Baker’s Falls is a stunning 20-meter cascading waterfall located along the Belihul Oya stream within Horton Plains National Park. The waterfall plunges over stepped horizontal ledges of hard khondalite and garnet-sillimanite gneiss. Differential erosion between resistant gneiss layers and softer biotite schist bands carved the multi-tiered drop over millennia. The surrounding gorge is enveloped in misty montane cloud forest featuring blooming pink wild rhododendrons and towering endemic tree ferns.
