Hostel dorm snorer is vibrating the metal bunk — earplugs tonight or ask the desk to move me?

Ella hostel, six-bed dorm, guy above me sounds like a tuk without a muffler. Night one I slept maybe two hours. Desk has a jar of foam plugs. Do I tough it with plugs, ask for a quieter bed/private tomorrow, or is complaining about snoring considered rude here?

Earplugs first tonight — that is why the jar exists — and ask the desk calmly in the morning for a quieter bed, a corner bunk, or a private if budget allows. Snoring complaints are common; rude is yelling at the sleeper at 2am. Do not shame the person in the dorm. Most hostels would rather move you than host a war. Pack your own plugs next trip; foam jars run out.

Foam plugs plus a white-noise app. Asked to move on night two when plugs were not enough. Desk was chill.

Plugs in, messaging desk for a lower bunk away from him tomorrow. Not confronting the guy.
