Back late from Perahera and the hotel breakfast cut-off will beat our alarm. Any practical chance of a late plate, or should we plan a nearby cafe and stop asking the night desk for miracles.

Message the desk before you sleep — some kitchens hold a simple plate if you ask early. Walking in cold at 10:30 rarely works.

Have a cafe backup pinned on the map. Festival weeks train hotels to protect cut-off times for the next turn.

Pack bananas and yogurt in the room fridge when you can. Late-plate hope is Plan B, not Plan A.
