Walked in late from the station onto a damp curb. Hotel key is in a pocket that is already picking up spray. Zip it, or leave it at the desk next time.

Zip, inner pocket, not the outer one that sits against a wet hip. A damp card after a late walk-in is a night-desk queue.

We put both cards in a small dry pouch. The pocket that got spray last night failed at the door.

If you pass the hotel on the way to the stretch, leave one card at the desk in your name.
