Want a Sunday afternoon nap before First Randoli. Do Kandy guesthouses usually allow late checkout, or should we book an extra half-day and leave bags elsewhere.

Ask early and offer to pay a late-checkout fee. Many guesthouses allow it on Sunday if the room is not turning over immediately.

If late checkout is refused, leave bags in storage and nap is harder — then prioritize an earlier claim and accept a shorter night.

Families with kids should lock the nap plan before noon. Random hope at 2 p.m. rarely works in festival week.
