Hotel room safe will not open an hour before checkout — call reception or keep trying the code?
Colombo hotel. Passport, backup card, and cash inside. Keypad beeps, door stays shut. Tried the code slowly three times. Checkout is soon and the airport run is booked. Is reception able to open these quickly, or do people end up delaying flights over stuck safes?

Stop hammering random codes — that can lock it longer. Call reception or engineering immediately and stay in the room. Hotels keep override procedures for guest safes; staff would rather open it than have you miss a flight. Have your ID ready so they can verify you before opening. Do not watch a random YouTube bypass with a battery pull unless staff guide you. Build a little buffer into airport timing when anything mechanical fails. Once open, ask them to test-set a new code or leave it empty if you are leaving.
Reception opened ours in about ten minutes with a master process. I had been panicking for twenty. Call sooner than I did.
Phoned desk. Technician on the way. Moving the PickMe by thirty minutes just in case.
