Hotel says the early breakfast is not for late arrivals after our night train — push or buy food in town?
Arrived at 5:40am from the night train, booking said breakfast included. Desk smiled and said the early sitting is only for guests who slept in-house overnight, and the main buffet starts too late for our morning bus. We are exhausted and hungry. Is this a common house rule, or do people calmly ask for a boxed breakfast / thermos tea without a fight?

Night-train arrivals are common; a good desk offers tea, fruit, or a packed breakfast even if the buffet clock has not opened. Not for late arrivals is a lazy script, not a sacred rule. Ask politely for something portable before your bus — many kitchens can plate bread, bananas, and eggs early. I will not invent a compensation tariff. If they refuse everything included on the voucher, buy food in town and note it on review later rather than staging a lobby war at dawn.
Asking for a pack and tea. If no, bakery in town before the bus.
