The street our hotel sits on is still taped. Procession still occupying. Wait at the tape edge, or go around the occupied line.

Detour. Tape on a hotel street means the line still owns it. Waiting at the edge with tired kids turns into sitting in the crush.

We walked two extra blocks on the outer ring and came in from the two-way side. The tape was still up when we looked back.

If a marshal is already lifting a small gap for residents, ask. Do not step over tape yourselves.
