How close can we stand to the whip-cracker section at the front without kids covering their ears the whole time. Not adult ear-protection shopping and not a hearing-impaired stand plan.

Give the whip-cracker section clear space — stand a little further back so kids hear the drums without covering their ears for every crack. Front-row volume is intense; a few metres helps a lot.

Soft plugs for littles still help if you end up closer than planned.

Once the whip-crackers pass, the drum line is easier for kids — hang on for that shift.
