Home cooking class - yes, and the difference is huge. Best route: Airbnb Experiences filtered for Sri Lanka, look for 'family home cooking' or 'auntie's kitchen' - many home cooks host through this platform. Also: LIP (Little Adventures + Curries) and 'Curry Auntie' network in Ella. Direct: ask your guesthouse - the owner's mother/wife often does home cooking classes as an income supplement. Not advertised online. Ask.
^ great tips. Also: the class is often better if you go to the local market together first (you learn ingredient identification), then cook together for 2-3 hours, then eat what you cooked. 4000-8000 LKR for 3-4 hour experience is standard. If someone quotes $80+ for this, they're overcharging.
